Komperdell Erlkönig FXP - self-deploying poles from Komperdell. Made in Austria.
The first thing my wife said when she saw them was - “they look like those cars, what’s the word for them in English?” I don’t think we have a specific word for those cars that are camo-wrapped in early stages of testing.
They have a specific word for them in German (of course they do) - Erlkönig. Apparently, the word comes from some famous old poem for some obscure reason. A poem which apparently everyone in Germany and Austria knows (of course they do).
Lo and behold, that’s the name of this pole - the Erlkönig FXP. Not sure about the inspiration aside from the pattern - be stealthy on the trails??? They do have other grip tape colors.
